"Open Government: Accessing Public Records and Meetings" sponsored by the League of Women Voters and Kentucky New Era

The League of Women Voters and the Kentucky New Era are sponsoring "Open Government:  Accessing Public Records and Meetings."

Al Cross, director of the Institute for Rural Journalism and a journalism professor at the University of Kentucky will be the keynote speaker for the forum. The forum is for anyone who wants to learn more about the Kentucky Open Records Laws. Speakers, in addition to Cross, will include Jennifer Brown, the Kentucky New Era's opinion editor and Nick Tabor a staff writer. People who attend the forum will learn how to file requests for information from local and state agencies and how to watch for possible violations of open meetings laws by local officials.
