"Die Hard" is an action-thriller about New York City cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) who, while visiting his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) at a Christmas party in Los Angeles, is caught in a hostage situation when a group of German terrorists, led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), seize the Nakatomi Plaza skyscraper. McClane, hiding in the building, must use his wits and fighting skills to save the hostages and thwart the terrorists' plan to steal millions in bearer bonds.
