Brown Bag Lunch program

Hopkinsville's African-American history seen through the life and work of city native Ted Poston, who became known as the Dean of Black Journalists in the US after covering many of the country's biggest stories during the Civil Rights Movement. Jennifer P Brown, opinion editor for the Kentucky New Era, is the featured speaker at the Brown Bag Lunch. She has written about people, government, politics and issues in Hopkinsville for nearly 30 years. Boston wrote a collection of short stories that illuminated the life of a black youth in a segregated Southern town during the 1910s. Jennifer Brown will discuss Poston's career and his book titled The Dark Side of Hopkinsville.
