Art Theft in a Time of War, a program by Betty Vinson. Adolph Hitler had a grand scheme to build the world's largest art museum in Linz, Austria. From 1939 to 1945, millions of paintings, books, religious works of art, antique furniture and sculptures were looted from occupied Europe. After the war, there was a huge job of locating, recovering, cataloging, and returning all the stolen art-related objects. The effort is still on-going. Betty Vinson is a teacher/librarian who, after retiring, studied art with Barbara Gardner. She enjoys and appreciates all forms of art, but painting in oil, acrylic and watercolor is her focus. She is a member of the Hopkinsville Art Guild and participates in many of the Guild's activities. She is also a member of the Pierian Club, a literary group where programs are researched and presented.
