Position Description
The primary purpose of the Director of Maintenance & Operations is to monitor, direct, organize, and oversee entire Maintenance and Operations Department of Hopkinsville Community College.


Major Responsibilities/Duties
  • Direct, monitor, and organize entire maintenance and operations department.
  • Facilities campus representative for all aspects of capital construction from inception to completion.  Provide onsite monitoring of in-progress projects and report findings to appropriate system personnel.
  • Provide first line supervision, leadership, and direction to two Maintenance & Operations assistant supervisors.  Provide needed support when dealing with disciplinary issues and actions.
  • Monitor, evaluate and adjust annual budget as necessary to accomplish all facility needs while meeting budgetary restrictions.
  • Support the Chief Business Affairs Officer and his/her executive team, supply information and advice as requested.
  • Develop, plan, and implement goals and objectives for the maintenance and operations department.  Evaluate procedures, practices and plans, and recommend any needed alterations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work with vendors, contractors and service providers to assure complete and correct services are provided. Maintain vendor and supplier catalogues for easy and efficient ordering.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree (related field) and 3 years related experience, or equivalent.
  • Problem solving and ability to work independently a must.
  • Management and/or supervisory experience is preferred.
